I grew these plants last year in 2 large planters. Growing in zone 6, I was very surprised to see they made it through our winter! A definite winner

Superbena are our most vigorous, heat tolerant, and mildew tolerant series. While always great in containers they are also fantastic in landscape beds. They can tolerate dry soils and lower fertility. Normally either an application of slow release fertilizer or amending with compost is enough to keep them happy and blooming in landscape beds. They shouldn't need to be trimmed back but can be given a "haircut" - a trim back - using a sharp pair of scissors or pruning shears at any time. While naturally well branched, trimming them back will encourage additional branching, fuller plants, and ultimately more flowers. I usually give them a very slight trim as I am transplanting to boost branching.
An application of fertilizer or compost on garden beds and regular fertilization of plants in pots will help ensure the best possible performance.
Growing Guide: Verbena Flowers
Superbena® Sparkling Amethyst bears large clusters of amethyst purple flowers kissed with rosy purple centers. The flowers completely cover the canopy of dark green, powdery mildew-resistant foliage all summer without deadheading. It is an excellent spiller in combination planters and hanging baskets.
Superbena® - Selected for their robust size, exceptional mildew resistance, and larger flowers that are produced all summer without deadheading, you won’t find a better verbena than Superbena.

I had these beautiful superbenas in some hanging baskets near my front door for 3 years (I'm in zone 9a). Unfortunately they couldn't stand up to this past summer's extended 100+ degree heat and died back completely, even though I kept the soil fairly moist. I hope I'll find them again this coming spring to give them another shot because I love seeing them when I get home. I took off 1 one star because they needed to be babied even in 95 degree weather so aren't that heat tolerant for a plant that can go to 11b.

I planted two of the Sparkling Amethyst verbenas in a 12" hanging pot in a sunny location. They have the most beautiful flowers, in shades of purple, lavender, and white. The plants don't especially trail; they're more spreading than trailing. They had lots of flowers all summer. In the fall the flowering has slowed down a bit, but they still look very good. I would happily plant these again, maybe in mixed planters next time.

Excellent, easy to grow with continuous purple/white flowers and lush dark green foliage. I found these in sad shape at the local Walmart reduced for quick sale. I watered them a home and kept them on a dappled sunlight for several days. They recovered quickly and after a week I put them in full sun and okay soil. They took off and and have spread to about a 2 ft diameter looking really healthy. I only wish I had bought the whole tray instead of just 2 plants. I will be picking up more next year. ☺️

Sparkling Amethyst is hands down the best Verbena I have had the chance to grow. It is a large plant and so far has kept together rather than sprawling with sparse blooms. This plant is like a curtain of various shades of lavender and has absolutely won me and my father. We definitely want this variety in our garden from now on.

This verbena is a beautiful blend of lavender and white. It is very showy in a container as it mounds and cascades, my favorite.

I bought one of these from a local garden center in early June (it is now early September). It has been growing in an area that gets approx 6 hours sun a day, in ordinary multi-purpose compost. It has flowered profusely all summer and the blooms are stunning. I don't know how hardy it will be yet, here in Derbyshire in the UK, but if it doesn't survive, I'm happy to treat it as an annual and I will be buying several more next May.

I brought one at a garden show, and it becomes a super star at my full sun garden. It is healthy and kept blooming non stop, no dead head needed. I love this plant and wanted to buy more, yet it is not available currently at your site.
