Primo^® 'Wild Rose' Coral Bells Heuchera hybrid

I purchased a very nice plant and paid an exceptionally high price for it. Also purchased other plants at the same time. I planted it in dappled shade, clay soil, Ohio climate. The Wild Rose kept dwindling and getting weaker throughout the season, The next spring I moved it to a different location, where it would be in more shade. By May the plant disappeared completely. I was very disappointed.

I live in northeast Ohio, zone 6. I bought the 'Wild Rose' Heuchera to plant in 2 tall urns at my front door which was under the high shade of a massive catalpa. The heuchera did very well in that location. Unfortunately, the tree had to be removed in July, which changed the area to full sun exposure. Consequently, the heuchera suffered leaf burn, so I had to move them to an area that provided morning sun but relief from the hot afternoon sun. In my experience so far, they do not do well in sun. (Perhaps they suffered because the change in sun exposure was so sudden.) They do, however, thrive in partial sun/shade. I also planted four in the ground amongst Japanese forest grass and chartreuse hostas. The colors look fabulous together. All of my 'Wild Rose' Heuchera look spectacular even now (November 2). I’m going to try to overwinter the ones in the urns. Since they are rated down to a zone 4, I’m hopeful they’ll do fine. I highly recommend the 'Wild Rose' Heuchera.

I ordered three promise heuchera last spring. I planted them in morning sun and afternoon shade in zone 8b southeast U.S. The specs on this site said sun or shade. They melted from the sun and heat and never grew in spite of great soul and adequate water. I really doubt if they are a sun plant (even morning sun) in northeast Florida. Extremely disappointed as I have been in general writhe many poorly performing Proven Winners plants I have bought.

I planted where it will get lots of sun , some later in the afternoon. The leaves at first were going brown but when I watered it every morning it bounced back. Love the color
